I think black and white...however...a fun idea might be to leave the paisley accents black and white but paint the rest of the mat with colors of the sky in the postcards...perhaps watercolor that fades from blue to yellowish pink (if that's a color).
It may also look weird...but you know me...everything is backwards.
That's a fun idea. When I looked at the photos the white mats looked really stark. Hadn't noticed so much looking in person. I may cut another mat and try your idea to add to the mix. Thanks.

I've been an artist since I can remember and a designer for about as long. I lean towards a rustic style somewhere between Adirondack and Western with a little Cottage thrown in for good measure.
I've been married half of my life to a wild-eyed southern boy. Together we have built a nice little farm and produced two adrenaline junkie children - Our Girl is now grown, living her dream on a reining horse ranch Oklahoma and Our Boy, 14, is in his first year of high school and is all about dirtbikes.
